Imagestation usually works in linking my sig, but occasionally it goes weird and says that the image is offline or something random like that, and as Syndarys noticed, the image is HUUUGE. I am quite relunctant to sign up to other image hosting sites, as I don't really like signing up to that many - so far I've done webspawner, digital pose, village photos etc. and they're all crappy. I was just wondering, does Geocities allow offsite linking? Cause I already have a geocities account, so that would be quite easy for me to host my sig on geocities. |

nope, sorry, Geocities doesn't allow hot linking. send your images to me if you want me to host them:

i wouldnt swear to this, but i dont think geocities allows remote linking. i dont know of a huge amount that do, but as kris said you could try angelfire. i have mine up at freeserve.

I thought angelfire doesn't allow remote linking..? well you could always try of course. but at least I'm sure that geocities doesn't. and I'm very happy with my free dutch accounts.. I wish I could help others get them but I can't

I can't figure out how to get my shiny new siggy to work. Al made it.

Hey Momma! What may be causing trouble are the 'weird' symbols in the piccie's address, like %. I'm not sure, but if you send the image to me I'll see what I can do. If you don't mind I'll upload it to one of my accounts.
I wonder if Al's hosting his pictures the same way..

I found a free image hosting site that allows remote linking!! Too good to be true? Well, there are a few conditions. For free accounts, the pics have to be under 130 kb, and you get 1 megabyte of space. So that means no animated sigs (probably too large), but animated avatars will work. Plus it's so easy! If you just want somewhere to store your unanimated sig and animated or unanimated avatar, this is the place for you! It's called IOwnJoo. Did I mention it's free? And that they allow remote linking?
ETA: just in case I wasn't clear, *each* pic has to be 130 kb or less, and you can have as many of those pics as you want, until you reach 1 megabyte of space. if you need more space than that, you have to pay. E(again)TA: I was wrong. The size limit for each pic is 150 kb, not 130 kb.  .: toqeme :. |

animated sigs are hardly ever larger than 1 mb!! 1 mb is ok, it's big enough. thanx, great tip! I immediately subscribed to try it out and I think I'm going to recommend it to everyone! it's perfect for hosting avatars and signatures! thanx again! o do you happen to know if there's a max of accounts you can get with the same e-mail address?

ev, i think you can only get one account per e-mail address. but if you have multiple addresses (who doesn't? i have 4), i see no reason why you can't sign up an account for each email address you have! when something good comes along you gotta capitalize! (like that tree guy who was on fire in the two towers and ducked his head down in the water). CAPITALIZE!
