Personal icons
They are those 10x10 pixels small icons next to members' names.. to get one, go to My control center and click Account preferences. Below 'Use personal icon url' (make sure the checkox is checked) you can fill in the internet address of the desired pic. It will automatically be resized to 10x10.
Personal photos
Your personal photo is also called avatar: the 60x60 pixels large image on your profile that also goes with all your posts. To get one, go to My control center and click Edit profile. Below 'My photo' you can fill in the internet address of the desired pic. The pic you choose will automatically be resized to 60x60.
Signatures
There are rules for using signatures on this board.. Read the Posting rules.

TIP Please note: If you link to a pic, make sure it's somewhere online and not just on your somputer! You'll need to upload your pic to the world wide web.
TIP from KillerTofu: host your images at http://www.iownjoo.com - space is limited but it works great for just avatars and signatures. And it's free.
TIP from Nessa Nenmancil: host your images at http://www.villagephotos.com - space is limited here too, but hey, it's free! It may take a while to upload your photos though.
TIP If you really can't figure it out, I'll upload your pic(s) for you and send you the link(s).
TIP If you have a pic you'd like to use but you don't know how to resize and stuff like that, send it to me and I'll see if I can help you.
