I come from a very un-dry family. My greatgrandma would hide bottles of nyquil in her purse and roll around in her wheelchair all tipsy. She's pretty much
my hero.
Anyway, in sadder new - Patrick Swayze passed away. I was so shocked when I found out. Lots of good thoughts and support for his family! Indie

he had a severe and agressive form of cancer, im not surprized. Kind of when Farrah passed, u saw it coming but u just didn't know when.
Makes you think about how no one is safe from disease. Doesnt matter how many millions you have, you have nearly the same chances as everyone else. I don't remember any contraversy with Patrick, he seemed like a good person who made rememorable movies. Its sad to see him go. He really was an icon in his own right. |

Last night I came home and smelled what I thought was gas. I've had a headache for a few days and am all ache-y and I think I have the flu.
So, when I came home and smelled that I thought that made I was suffering from a bit of CO2 poisoning. Welllll, after googling for an hour about pilot lights and CO2 detectors (mine wasn't going off) I got really upset and decided to call the fire dept. They came with their fire trucks blaring (at 1AM). TWO TRUCKS. I was mortified. Anyway, they checked out my appartment and couldn't find anything with their probes and sensors - but they did admit that it smelled like something electrical was burning. They said it was coming in through the window and that I was fine. Long night. Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. But at least I could fall asleep knowing I was not going to die of CO2 poisoning. Indie

When I first moved into my own flat, I did the same thing, Indie, except it was the gas company, not the fire department. It turned out to be the cleaner I had
used to clean the oven (the old tenants were utter SLOBS and I had to use industrial strength cook off cleaner.)

well at least you didnt fall asleep and die of CO2 poisoning. that would have made me incredibly sad.
but if you really are sick, i hope its not the swine flu. i started school again. im kinda hating it already but i'll get over it. and i applied for a job. not just any job, my OLD job. the one i quit because they were working me too much during school. bad idea? |

I'm glad I didn't die of CO2 poisoning either! Mellie - I HATE the smell of ovens after they've been cleaned. It makes me feel really ill.
Also, I know what you mean about those jobs that you just can't shake. I used to work at the same place I am now - when I first came to chicago back in '04. UGH. Indie
