Kat, who is going to photograph your wedding? Yourself?HAHA, that's cute. I don't think we are ever getting married, as much as I would like to. However, no, I will photograph myself. How hard would that be. "Sure, I do. Hold on..." *runs and smiles into lens, snaps horrible out of focus picture of her teeth* Seriously, I have some amazingly talented photographer friends that I would die to have photograph me when that day perhaps, maybe, someday comes. LOSERS, so what? I love all of you Mellie, want to meet up at the HP Exhibition, Sunday Oct 25th?? I am going to be there and would love to see you...or just meet you for goodness sakes! Okay, I say RIGHT NOW, that we all get tickets for Infitinus and finally have one giant moot! Again, I am going regardless...haha. In more stupid Potter news, something is actually coming to ME for a change! I don't have to travel more than 20 minutes to get to this exhibit! I am so f'ing addicted to The Girls Next Door. I hate myself a little for it.

Double post.
My TV boyfriend went and got himself engaged. Boo. At least I like his fiance. Darn it! Only one more John left to go and I will be Johnless!

Kat, I didn't know about that exhibit. I should be around that weekend; are you SURE that you want to go opening weekend?? I might not go to the
exhibit with you, but I could meet up with you for lunch or dinner. We could go to the North End or out in Cambridge. There really isn't anything else to
do right by the Museum.
(I wonder if that would make me the "most Mooted" of the board??)

I think it would make you 'most Mooted'! I'm jealous.
Also, today is the 8th anniversary of 9/11. Some years it hits me so sharply and I remember what I was doing and where I was...and other years the date sort of passes me by, unnoticed, just like any other day. Today was like that - so ordinary. Indie

I know. School just started up for me as well.
I just made a list of 43 things (not on the website, but inspired by it) that I want to accomplish. One of those things is to make a five year plan and another is to be living back in Europe by this time next year. Gah, I miss it! Indie

from what I've noticed from those lists, is that they help you realize what you want to do, but you shouldnt put a timeline on anything because life
shouldnt be planned. life is moving at its own pace and we cant plan everything right now when we dont know what circumstances are going to interfere or help.
true, if you dont give yourself a "due date" then you may never get around to it, but i think its better for character development to see if you can
make it happen without a date, without the pressure of a timeline.
but thats just me. I was the one that went skydiving because ... i could. lol. I had the money and the time so, I went! try seeing what you can mark off ur list right now and see what you need prep for and just let it happen. you never know, you may meet someone who wants to do it with you and that makes the adventure even better. |

I feel like if I don't give myself due dates, then I'm just always saying that I'm going to do these things when I never do.
But I hear what you're saying and it's smart. I'll try to combine our two different proccesses and see what happens. Indie

thats wut i like about you. you listen, access to yourself, and take what sounds good for you situation. you dont accept it all if it doesnt apply, and you
dont disregard because it differs.
so im kinda missing being single. is that normal? ive been with this fool for 4 years, engaged to him, married in two years, but ... now im missing the single thing. thoughts? opinions? |

ELLO POPPETS!
i've missed you all! unfortunately CRAZY life situations (my near divorce, and now moving to Utah), coupled with facebook drew me away for awhile. But ultimately, I'm good. Kaity has seen me around Facebook a bit, as well as Kat. *wishes I was there to be hugging you Kat* bliss- totally normal to miss being single! but i think any circumstances you are in with him might determine how real that "want" is, could just be time to switch things up a bit with your lives together. they don't lie when they say "marriage is work", and in my opinion, living together for years is basically married.

Utah! Lindsey, do tell!
We need an update. Did you get my stalkerish message on facebook? Indie

LOL yes i got your message on FB, hence me gettin my butt over here to post.
UTAH- Well, a friend/coworker of my husband had been telling him about the money plumbers make in Utah (this guy had lived there, but moved back to CA because of his sick mother..) and also how much cheaper the cost of living is. So, we started looking at real estate online there, talking to anyone and everyone we knew or met that had ever been there, plus our dog breeder lives there- they all had nothing but really good things to say about Utah as a whole. So, we took a weekend trip there (Salt Lake City to be exact) and drove around (300 miles of driving to be exact). We didn't do any sight seeing type stuff- no mountains, lakes, landmarks. We were on a mission to look at neighborhoods and stores and schools that were available- the everyday life stuff. I wanted to look around and make sure it was a place I would want to live, not vacation and ski. So, we took about 30 different real estate listings and went to almost all of them, got a feel for which areas we liked. From what I see, I like it! Somehow the idea of moving across states makes you feel like you're moving to Mars! But really, there isn't too much difference between here and there. The people we encountered were always friendly and helpful, especially with our random questions about neighborhoods, recreation centers and school systems. My husband also did a job interview at a company where the top guy had 12K take-home pay the month before! You could NEVER get that in CA! The middle of the road guys were making around 6K- where in CA that would be working major overtime with a high volume of work available......and that's hard to achieve out here. Basically, with my husband's experience level, they offered him a job in Utah. There are reasons, and very good ones why I would NEVER want to leave San Diego, but ultimately, it's like treading water for us here. We're not getting ahead. Even if we only move away for a few years, we would be able to actually bank some money, pay off some things, and really be living on our OWN. Right now we depend on my mother a little more than I am comfortable with. PLUS- a 5 or 6 bedroom house with land that affordable?? You don't find those in CA, but there are plenty in Utah!!! So, I'm very excited. Right now my husband is living in Utah by himself working his new job, and me and the kids are still in SD, waiting until we can afford to move everything, and also seeing about buying a house for when we get there!

Do you think this move will also be good for you guys? It sounds like such a big change! Utah has always sounded very beautiful.
I bet your kids are going to love it. I know from personal experience though that moving is so very difficult. Good luck though! You've got all my support! Indie

I hear the whole state is dry. I would have to sneak in a major stash of sauvignon blanc.

LOL the state is not dry, but you cannot buy liquor on sundays, and i think it's just kinda frowned upon......but whatever we're not mormons, and my
husband drinks a VERY occasssional beer (like one or two every 3 months..) in fact my husband was laughing the other day that he went into a liquor store for
gum, but it ONLY sold liquor, nothing else. apparently our liquor stores here sell every snack, candy, random item you can think of PLUS alcohol.....but there,
it's a LIQUOR store!
