Well done, Indie.
I have Sunshine Cleaning to watch tonight, with Emily Blunt (I heart her) and Amy Adams. It looks good, like Little Miss Sunshine good. I will report back with my verdict.

I saw it in theatres and thought it was incredibly sad. But good. I also love Alan Arkin.

im going to be watching the soloist today.
i agree with indie, little miss sunshine was so sad. nothing turned out. they merely existed, they didnt necessarily have hope or determination, it was just pushing through because thats what life is.. existing. |

I meant Sunshine Cleaners - but Little Miss Sunshine was sad as well.
I like movies that are just about existing...sometimes it's nice to get away from big movies and just watch a family going through something normal. Indie

The real life people who inspired The Soloist were on "60 Minutes" last night.

I liked it, but I preferred Little Miss Sunshine. It wasn't the black comedy that I was expecting. There was room for improvement in the story.
Alan Arkin's character kind of got the shaft; they should have explored it a little bit more. The movie was an hour and a half; it could have benefited
from a few more scenes.

We watched "Seven Pounds" over the weekend. OMG. Intense, crazy movie. Sooo sad and incredibly touching. One of those movies that makes me want to live life 150% harder, stronger, and clearer than I do now. Besides, Will Smith = HOT.

last movie in the theater i saw: Ponyo. I took the kids the day after David left for Utah. Did you see it Indie? The animation was wonderful and it had the fun
quirkiness of the characters typical of Miyazaki, but the story was a little weak. To me it was comparable to Totoro in the sense that it was more geared for
kids. But I will still buy it when it comes to DVD and watch it repeatedly with my kids.
LOL- Bliss my 4 yr old daughter is sitting in my lap, saw your avatar and said "LINK!" she thinks you're Link from Legend of Zelda Interesting movies I watched on TV- "virgin suicides" sad but kind of enchanting in a strange way. and finally saw "atonement"- loved it! EDIT- Oooh, one more funny thing! Flipping channels the other night I happened upon a rather odd movie called "Virgin Territory" (it was already mostly over) but I caught a scene with Hayden Christensen in it so I had to stay. What's funny is that it goes to this scene with a guy that for a good 30 seconds I SWORE was Orlando Bloom and was laughing my head off about how he was in this cheesy movie but that we never discussed it here, like it was a hidden flop he didn't want to be credited for! But then I realized it was Rupert Friend with dark hair......he's actually not bad on the eyes, but the movie was just weird and bad.

Your four-year old daughter and I are now going to be best friends. I love Zelda! I'm more of an Ocarina of Time person, but Windwaker and Twilight
Princess are still awesome.
And yes, Atonement is some seriously good cinema. What a beautifully shot film! But what a sad story. As for Ponyo, I haven't seen it yet. I really want to, but I'm a little freaked out by all the Jonas Brother/Miley Cyrus siblings in it! Tortoro was my first Miyazaki movie and to this day I have the biggest soft spot for it! The scene where they grow the tree overnight makes me wanna cry. Indie
