continuing discussion of leonardo:
i actually only like him in films.......... titanic came on tv the other day, and my stepdaughter and i were glued to the screen, and my husband made some sarcastic comment like "ooooh, leonaaardoooo"- with fake swoon- and all i could think was ew, no. i always love how he plays his characters, and he seems to be a decent "let's take responsiblity for the earth and it's people" kind of guy, but i have no attraction to him at all.

i have, and i liked it. i would say indie probably has too since i seem to remember her beloved jeremy irons playing one of the "musketeers"
amirite??
and i don't think leo is ugly at all, just doesn't catch my eye.

so "encore" is on free this week, and guess what movie was playing today??
Man in the Iron Mask! I caught the last half...............the hair extensions in that movie were HORRIBLE!

lol - yeah, I've seen it - I OWN it. I *heart* Aramis (Jeremy). And yes, the extensions are terrible.
When I was in 6th grade I went through this OBSESSIVE Leo phase...like, sick. With Orlando, it was a bunch of Lord of the Rings posters and right clicking save on certain online pictures...with Leo - it was me, cutting out little blurbs in mags and newspapers...it was sick. But hey, I was 12. I still think he's very attractive, but part of that is loyalty and part of it is his acting talent. I believe every character he plays. I want to see him and Johnny Depp work together again - they were great in What's Eating Gilbert Grape but I would love to see something else with them both in it. Indie

Matt & I saw Leatherheads today. Totally cute. John is so hot.
However, the BEST part was the previews!! Ok, not the best part, but they were good!!! Sex & The City AND Indiana Jones!! WOO  May is going to be a
KICK ASS movie month!!!

I just saw LIONS FOR LAMBS - wow. It was amazing. I absolutely love Robert Redford and I absolutely recommend this movie to everyone.

Lions for Lambs is AMAZING. Very good movie.
I just saw Lars and the Real Girl. I was in tears by the end. It was so absolutely amazing. Please, please see this movie.

Really its good? I saw it at the movie store the other night and passed right over it.
I just watched American Gangster and RENDITION - both were good, but neither one was as good as LIONS FOR LAMBS. Oh, I also watched The Kite Runner - and it was just as well done as the book until the very end with the fight between Assef and Amir...that final fight scene was supposed to be this great purging or baptism-like cleansing of Amir's past... the movie TOTALLY skimmed over it and I felt as though it were the most important part of the book. I watched the beginning of MARGOT at the WEDDING - my parents finished it and said it suckkked. *shrug* I was too busy finishing HP 7 Indie

I just finished The Golden Compass (the movie)...woah, what a let down!
I did love the girl who played Lyra though...she rocked. And the bears were cool, too. Plot = sucky. Indie

I enjoyed Golden Compass. It wasn't the best movie ever made from a book, however, compared to Eragon it was Citizen Kane.
But McKellen's publicist warned that final arrangements were yet to be made. "Of course he wants to do it, but nothing's been agreed or signed," Clair Dobbs said.
"He confirmed that I would be reprising the role," the magazine quoted McKellen as saying. "Obviously, it's not a part that you turn down, I loved playing Gandalf." McKellen's sonorous interpretation of Gandalf in the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy delighted fans and critics, earning him an Academy Award nomination for best supporting actor. The 68-year-old British actor previously told The Associated Press that he would hate to see anyone else play the role. The "Lord of the Rings" movies, based on the Tolkien book series of the same name, were extremely lucrative, grossing some $2.8 billion at theaters worldwide. "The Hobbit" is being produced by Peter Jackson, the director of the "Rings" movies, and is likely to be filmed in his home country of New Zealand next year.

i saw "Babel" the other night and loved it. when i originally saw the trailers, it really seemed like a brad pitt-fest, and i was relieved when it
really wasn't "his" movie.
to me golden compass would've been hard to follow if i hadn't read the books, and i really didn't see any of the "anti-church" hype the media focused on. lyra did rock though! i want to watch kite runner but am so not wanting to see THE scene..... is it graphic indie??

No, Lindsey, I thought it was going to be really terrible the way the media was portraying it (I mean - REALLY REALLY terrible) but you see what's about to
happen and it's kid actors so it's horrifying to think about...but it cuts away and doesn't
come off as exploitive at all. Then again, I had heard so much about the scene that I was observing it from a really critical point of view. Its a wonderful movie though, you should watch it regardless...it's about 7 1/2 seconds - just look away. I read that about Ian...I'm so happy! It's on his official website so hopefully he really is signed! Kaity, I haven't seen 27 dresses or Made of Honor but I really want to see both! Indie
