Welcome to the Orlando Bloom Fan Board (the Orli Board,) established June 2001 and annoying people ever since.

This little thread is intended to provide you with all the information you need before you start posting. It is quite long but hopefully it will be useful to helping you find your way around the Orli Board. It contains everything you need to know before you start posting.

Posting Rules - please read before you post

If you only read one thing before posting, make it the posting rules. There is nothing in the rules that isnt necessary. With a board this size, we need everyone to stick to these rules so that everything runs smoothly. For example, we have sig. size rules because those with slower connection speeds suffer if everyone has a large signature.

General Board Rules

1. No swearing, sexist, racist, or flaming towards other posters, Orlando Bloom, or the Mod Squad. Just remember that there are a lot of different people with different beliefs and such. Mods and Admins reserve the right to lock or delete any post.

2. Keep posts PG13. The only place this does not apply is in the AAG forum! Absolutely no Porn or Porn links in any forums including the AAG forum!!!

3. Please keep your posts in the correct forum.

4. Do not waste space with one word responses or emoticons!

5. Please only post in English on this board. Its the only language we all speak and its only fair. Also, no net speak as not everyone knows how to understand that, ourselves included.

6. Always mark your post with the word SPOILER in the title if it contains a spoiler. To Use a SPOILER in a post:

7. Don't post all in CAPITAL LETTERS its considered shouting and is rude.

8. Keep your sig. images to no greater than the set sizes of:
- 200 pixels wide and 100 pixels high for animated gifs and only 1 per sig. line
- 400 pixels wide and 200 pixels high non-animated gifs or JPEG and only 1 per sig. line. NO bmp. images allowed in sig. lines they take way too long to load.
- 5 lines of text max.
- no scrolling text in sigs.
- text in sigs. can not be any larger than +3 in size

Your combined sig. size not including text MUST NOT exceed a total of 400 pixels wide or 200 pixels in height That means if you have a sig. image of 200x400, you can not also have two smaller images with it. Digital Pose members: we are aware that Digital Pose adds a small amount of text to your sig. image and that will not be counted in the total size of the image.

Not sure what size your sig. is? Right click on your image and select properties and it will tell you. If it's too big, take it out of your sig.

9. EITHER an animated sig. OR and animated avatar, not both

10. EITHER an avatar or an image in your title except Mods and Admins who can still have their mod banner in their titles.

Banning and deleting policy


- Multiple Posts - will be automatically deleted so that only one remains. Double postage is not cool.

- Messages in the wrong Forum - will be moved to the correct forum. Please, just watch where you're posting!!!!

Members are banned following a Three Strikes Rule.

1st Offense - E-mail warning
2nd Offense - E-mail or public warning
3rd Offence - Automatic ban for the space of one week and an email letting you know about it.

If after your banning you insist on continuing to break the rules you will be emailed once with a warning and if you continue to break these very simple rules, you will be banned by Nick and IP address and not allowed to return to this board.


List of Mods and Admins

The following people run and moderate the board. Beside each name is a list of what they are in charge of. Please feel free to contact them with problems. You con contact the mods:

- by leaving a message in the Messages to Mods forum with the Mod's name in the subject line
- by clicking on the name of the mod below and sending a private message

The Admins

These three have the power to give you titles and access the control center. They can ban or unban members and send mass messages to people on the board.

MellieM42 - contact Mellie if you would like to complain about something on the board, be it another member, one of the mods or the topic of a thread.

Italktoharvey - contact Kim for information on the board layout.

Each of the mods below are in charage of specific forums. If you have a problem or a question about a forum send it to the person in charge of the forum. A full list of who mods what is available on the main forum listing. The name of the mod is next to the forum description.

Getting a title under your name:

Under your user name in the panel to your left you should see the title 'registered user'. As a way of expressing individuality, many posters request to be given their own title. To do this, you need to post a request with your title in the Title Request thread. An administrator will then give you your title in the next batch. More info is explained in the thread itself.

Getting a signature line

Many posters have signature lines. These include pictures and lines of text. You can have any picture you like as long as it conforms to the following rules.

To make a sig:
- make yourself a picture/choose what text you wish to include
- check that what you have complies to the posting rules regarding sig size (maximum 400 pixels wide, 200 pixels high for a picture, 5 lines of text or for an animated gif no larger then 100x100 pixels and no more then two in your sig)
- upload your picture to your webspace
- go to your control centre, the link is above the navigation bar
- go to account preferences
- put the url for your sig into the box marked Posting & Messaging Use Custom Signature and make sure to click the box
- put in any text you want to use
- add any ezcodes
- hit save changes

Getting an avatar

An avatar is the picture under you name.

To make an avatar

Avatars can be no larger then 60x60 pixels

- follow the steps above for making a sig line and go into your Edit Profile page
- Personal Information My Photo
- put the URL for your avatar into the box
- hit Save Changes

Birthday Calendar

The Birthday Calendar is a list of the birthdays of the members of the board. To have your name added please post in the birthday list in this forum.

Being Adopted

Because the board has been running so long, a lot of people already know each other quite well. This makes many newbies feel left out of the conversation is can be quite daunting. To try help newbie's feel more welcome, we set up the adoption service.
All this means is that you have a contact on the board whom you can talk to about Orlando, and whom will help you find your way around the board and help you get to know people. If you have questions about posting but don't want to contact a mod or admin, you can ask you adoptee for help.

To get yourself adopted, post a short introduction about yourself in the Introductions and Newbies forum and you will be adopted by one of the current members.

Guide to posting

We ask that when posting you stick to the posting rules. Also, please, please please post your thread in the correct forum. It makes everyones life a lot easier.

Forum list

Not counting the Archived forums, there are currently 20 forums. For a newbie it can get confusing trying to figure out what to post and in which forum. On the main forum listing page all forums are listed with a short note on what kind of topics should be posted in them, and the name of the mod/admin who looks after the forum. Any questions about a forum should be directed to the person whose name is listed. If there is no name, contact one of the administrators: MellieM42 or Italktoharvey.
