First off, I want to welcome you to the Orlando Bloom Fans Board (the Orli Board) on EZ Board. My name is Mel, and I am the head administrator of this board. I wanted to be the first to say that it is great to have you here in our community.
I have been a member of this board for just over three years, and over that time I have grown in my appreciation for both Orlando Bloom and my fellow members of this board, many of whom I call my friends. I hope that you will have as much fun on this board as I have, and come to form some lasting friendships with people from all over the world.
Due to the size and global nature of this board, I would like to reiterate how important it is to follow the guidelines set in the Posting Rules.
There aren't very many of them, and I hope that you will take the time to read them.
Why the rules?
1. This board is HUGE as far as bulletin boards go, and everyone who is on it brings something different to it. Because this board is an English-language fan board, we ask all the members to use proper English grammar (including punctuation) to assist members of the board for whom English is NOT their first language.
2. We all ask you to restrict the size of your custom signature because some members have older computers and slower connections, and large pictures end up slowing their ability to use the board and hinders their participation.
3. We also ask members to be responsible in their use of language and subject matter because this is a board open to all fans of Orlando Bloom. We don't want to have an age restriction, and therefore we just ask people to keep it clean in the regular forums. (The forum "almost Anything Goes" has its own set of rules with regards to these issues.)
4. There is one thread in Off Topic Chatter for Spam. All other threads which are determined to be spam will be closed. This board is Gold Status courtesy of financial donations from the members, and excessive irrelevant posting (ie. spamming) drives up the cost of renewing the Gold. We like the Gold, but we don't want to pay an arm and a leg for it, so please resist the urge to spam.
I hope that you will keep this in mind when you begin your adventure in posting on the board, and I look forward to getting to know each of you better and continuing our fandom and support for Orlando Bloom.
