It had been three weeks since Christmas. His friends left all promising to call when they got home. Since then life had gone on as always. Orlando still worked and tried to socialize. One evening, during the third week of January, he and Andrea met for dinner.

How was your week? Orlando greeted her as she walked up to the restaurant.

It was good! You?

Decent. I have no complaints.

Well thats good to hear.

Orlando smiled. Come on Andrea. Lets go get ourselves a seat.

The two of them ate at the restaurant on a regular basis. Their first experience had been quite eventful. The very first time they visited the place, someone recognized him. The restaurant had become a mad house! People were everywhere. The owner had intervened and gave Orlando and Andrea a chance to escape. Since then, there was a special booth in the back that the two of them had access to.

They were seated at the booth and the menus were placed on the table for them. Before they sat down, Orlando helped Andrea take off her coat. She smiled her thanks, and they made themselves comfortable. After they ordered their food, they started to talk.

I had a wonderful Christmas, Orlando.

So did I. He smiled.

I really enjoyed your friends. They took Cristina and I into their hearts with no questions asked. It was like we were part of the family.

Im glad. Theyre all really great people. I love them all very much.

I know you do. I can see it in y our eyes when you talk about them. What about the young girl? Ally was it?

Oh yeah. Shes Sean and Christines daughter. She really liked you.

I know. Andrea smiled. She asked for my address.

Why your address?

She told me she wanted to write me. So I figured why not?

Orlando chuckled. Thats my Ally. Always making new friends. So what did you two ladies chat about?

You. She kept asking about our friendship.

Ours?

Yeah.

I told her than you and I are best friends. She didnt seem satisfied with that answer.

She asked me the same thing on Christmas Eve. She was curious as to if you like-like me. Orlando laughed.

So tell me, do you like-like me? He asked with all the charm he could muster.

Orlando! Get real! You only lost your wife last year. Im sorry, but I think it would be a bit soon for anyone to admit having serious feelings.

Calm down, Andrea. He took her hand and stroked it gently. I was only messing around.

Right. Of course. Andrea was unsettled for the rest of the evening.

The next morning Andrea woke up around noon. She had a hard time falling to sleep. She couldnt believe that he had asked her a question like that! Her? Like him? That was impossible. Wasnt it? After pouring herself some coffee. Andrea walked out to her mailbox.

Bills. Bills. Bills. She muttered as she went through the contents in the mailbox. Ad. Bills. Oh! Whats this?

Andrea smiled when she saw the return address. Ally had sent her a letter. She gathered the rest of the mail and walked back to the house. She chuckled as she sat down at the table and opened the envelope.

Dear Miss Andrea,

Hi! Its Ally! How are you? Im good! So do you like-like Uncle Orlando? Have you kissed him yet? Write me back soon!

She shook her head and smiled. She got up, found a sheet of paper, and wrote a quick response. Shed have to drop it off at the post office when she went to the store. Ally was such a sweet girl. Andrea got up and headed to the bathroom. She had to get ready to leave.

Several hours later Andrea was in her kitchen preparing nachos. Orlando was supposed to show up any minute. They were just going to hang out, eat dinner and then watch a movie.

Hey there. Orlando greeted Andrea as she opened the door.

Hi! The foods just about ready."

I hope so! It smells delicious.

Thanks. What movie did you bring?

While you were sleeping.

Ok cool. I love her.

Yeah. So what are we having for dinner?

Nachos! Andrea grinned. She knew they were Orlandos favorite.

They entered the kitchen and Orlando helped himself to a drink. Then he went and sat at the table as she finished preparing the food. Do you need any help in there? He yelled.

Nope! Im just about finished.

Ok. As Orlando took a sip of his drink, he noticed a single sheet of paper. Out of curiosity, he reached over and picked it up. He laughed as he read what was written.

What are you laughing about? Andrea spoke as she approached the table. In her right hand she carried a sizzling plate of nachos.

This letter.

Oh geez! That came today.

Did you write back yet?

Yeah. I took the letter and dropped it off at the post office this afternoon.

So what was your reply?

Cause my name was mentioned.

Why do you say that? Andrea laughed.

I dont know. Why else wouldnt you tell me what you said?

Just cause. Do I have to have a reason?

No. He laughed. I will bug you about it until you tell me.

The two of them started eating their dinner. Andrea stood firm as Orlando continued to pester her about the reply. After finishing their meal, they settled down in front of the TV and spent the evening watching the movie.
