No, must not think about stupid Twilight. Not addicted. Not addicted at all.
Oh FRAK. I might be in trouble. I know, where is Indie? I have been hoping that she will weigh in and then distract me with some David Tennant or something. Has anyone else read A Passage to India by EM Forster?? I love this book, but my sister's book club gave up trying to read it after 30 pages. Lightweights!!

THANK GOD FOR YOU INDIE. (Tennant is so calming. And that movie puts me back on proper track. Doesn't he look like he would be the most MARVELOUS kisser?
Seriously, peeps, go check out that video. ) I had severely whacked dreams about vampires last night. I am a Buffy girl - we kill the vamps, not have dinner
with them.
Any comments on my reaction to Breaking Dawn?

I'm actually surprised, Mellie. I just can't see you dwelling on this!!! I mean, I know there is lots of Jacob goodness - and he's totally worth
dwelling on - but the fact that you're having dreams!?!!?!? Craziness.
There were certain parts of the book I enjoyed - all the Jacob stuff of course, their honeymoon ('cause I'm still a giggly 14 yr. old at heart), and the moment he changed her into a vampire. Not the actual act (with all the biting through the womb yuckiness) but the moment up to her heart slowed and then stopped - very dramatic in my opinion. Now you should go read The Host. It is much better and there are still hot guys to drool over. The best book is Eclipse and Jacob's kiss...now THAT'S something to dream about! I actually knew a girl on another board who HATED that kiss because she was tired of all the men in the books manhandling Bella and taking advantage of her weakness. A lot of people agreed and said that he was too rough with her. I say being too rough is better than being treated like I'm some breakable thing that cannot go out in to the world! Indie And yes, I do want to make out with Tennant LIKE NOW!

Amen!!!
You have no idea how many times I've read that section in Eclipse. He deserved so much better than Bella though.

Screw Bella! He deserved so much better than Reneesmee!!!!!! GAG!!
So I read this book in two nights: The House on Tradd Street. My mom thought I would like it because it is set in Charleston, SC, which I LOVE, and the main character is named "Melanie" and she is really anal. (Like me. Seriously, some of the things she did in this book hit a little too close to home - like staying up all night rearranging her book shelves.) She also inherits a house with a mystery... and a number of ghosts too!! I really enjoyed it a lot and a sequel is supposed to come out this fall.

I recently read The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian, by Sherman Alexie.
BEST. BOOK. EVER. I laughed and cried sometimes on the same page!!! He is a master writer - go read it now. Indie

Indie, my friend Meredith, who is in library school, recommended that book to our book club. I will have to check it out. Our book club just finished reading
People of the Book by Geraldine Brooks, which is like DaVinci Code meets the Red Violin. I didn't finish it in time, but I like it so far. I did guess the
ending.

still. plugging. through. anne rice's witching hour......omg its a long book, but I'm almost finished. i'm ready to travel to new orleans just to
stand outside of the house anne rice based the setting off of. i really wish that whoever had bought it off of her would make a tour out of the house, it would
be cool to actually go inside!

I kind of want to read her lestat stuff...her really famous series. I've always shied away from Anne Rice but I sort of want something decadent!
Mellie - please do read the Sherman Alexie book. It's STUNNING. I cannot wait to read more from him. Indie

I read the most popular of the vampire stuff, and really enjoyed it. Now I'm finding out there are a few others that combine the vamps and witches (which i
hear aren't as good) but still want to read them since I love the characters.
And I found out that I can buy Anne Rice's old house for a mere $4 mill!

ok, i finally finished "the witching hour" and have started the second book "lasher". Wow that was a long book, but worth it in the end. It
defenitely had a different feel than her vampire books, but one that ultimately I enjoyed....until the very end
has anyone else read this book? I would love to converse.........
